Donggun “KDG” Kim and Chang Geun “Changgoon” Park will lead Seoul Dynasty’s coaching staff in 2019 – joining GM Hocury to rebuild the team for success this upcoming season
August 28, 2018 – After naming Hochul “Hocury” Lee as General Manager last month, Gen.G esports’ Overwatch League team, Seoul Dynasty, is revamping its coaching staff with the additions of Donggun “KDG” Kim and Chang Geun “Changgoon” Park as Head Coach and Assistant Coach, respectively.
KDG and Changgoon fit right into the culture of unity, teamwork, and positivity that Hocury is creating for the Dynasty squad. KDG enters with a strong esports background having played StarCraft professionally before coaching Mosaic Esports and 6nakes. Changgoon brings over a championship pedigree — after a stint with the GC Busan as Manager and Coach, he led the London Spitfire to the inaugural Overwatch League Grand Finals Championship.
“In KDG and Changgoon, Hocury and our organization are thrilled to have found a coaching tandem with the same vision of how to build a team,” said Arnold Hur, Gen.G esports Chief Growth Officer. “We’re confident that under their leadership, all our players will develop a winning mentality and set us up for success in Overwatch League this season.”
Seoul Dynasty’s coaching staff makeover was driven by an emphasis on team character. Management is developing a group of selfless players willing to work together as one, bringing a professional approach and focus-level to the building every day. Having everyone on the same page should lead to a feel-good energy around Seoul Dynasty, lending itself to positive results once the season gets underway.
“I feel really good about the team and coaching staff we’re constructing for the 2019 season,” Hocury said. “We are putting all the pieces in place to win and we all look forward to getting to work.”
Seoul Dynasty is excited to unleash its new and improved roster and coaching staff this upcoming Overwatch League season. For more information visit https://dynasty.
