1st June 2020 – Canvey Island, United Kingdom – The last bastion of print Nintendo coverage, ONM, closed its doors in 2014, leaving a void of print Nintendo coverage ever since. In the subsequent years, many have yearned for a new Nintendo magazine. Even though enthusiast ventures have attempted to convey that content and capture that nostalgic feeling synonymous with Nintendo, it hasn’t been quite the same, until now. After six long years and with Nintendo’s stock at a resurgent high, the time is right for a new Nintendo magazine to make an entrance, and that’s Ninty Fresh.
What is the Magazine?
Ninty Fresh is an unofficial print Nintendo magazine, packed with the latest content, analysis, and Switch reviews, blended with some quality retro Nintendo coverage. Think of it as ONM/NOM crossed with Retro Gamer, although unaffiliated with any of those publications.
This first issue will feature an interview with former NOM Editor, Tim Street, an NES retrospective from Chris Scullion, author of the NES Encyclopaedia, and a behemoth of a Super Mario feature with words from many that either used to write in ONM or still write about Nintendo games today.
The issue is themed to celebrate the huge achievement that is 35 years of Super Mario adventures, supplemented with amazing bespoke cover artwork and lots of other great features.
Ninty Fresh issue 1 is being funded through Kickstarter, with many different levels of support from a PDF or print copy to premium levels for those that want to grab a copy. The magazine will ship worldwide and those interested will be able to support it via this link.
If you miss the days of ONM/NOM and other incredible Nintendo publications, here is your chance to support a new one. The team behind Ninty Fresh is looking to raise £2000 before June 30th to successfully fund the issue, and a print copy of the magazine can be secured from £5.
