The event starts at 12 pm on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at All American Cards and Comics, 52 Boardman-Canfield Rd., Boardman, OH 44512. For the third year, the 24-hour marathon of the card, video, role-playing, and board games will actually last 25 hours as it coincides with Daylight Savings Time.
About Extra Life
Extra Life unites thousands of players around the world in a 24-hour gaming marathon to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since its inception in 2008, Extra Life has raised more than $30 million for local CMN Hospitals with last year bringing in nearly $11 million alone! The Youngstown Guild is on track to break their record for local donations this year, benefitting Akron Children’s Hospital.
From the Extra-Life Website:
“Extra Life is gamers doing what they do best to help sick and injured children at their chosen Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.”
All monies raised during our annual fund drives go directly to Akron Children’s Hospital as Unrestricted Funds, and the ACH can choose to apply those funds directly to whatever portion of care they need most.
Robert Kimmel, Secretary for the Youngstown Guild, says,
“Anybody can participate. Just show up, play, and help us help the kids.”
Jeff Chaffee, the Event Chair, reminds us:
“There’s no better example for a dad, and a gamer, to set than helping others. In a nation that is increasingly divided, creating a fun, safe way to come together for those less fortunate is really what we’re all about.”
Those wishing to donate or to help with fundraising activities can contact Jeff Chaffee at email@example.com. Those wishing to participate are asked to simply attend. A $5 donation at the door is suggested, though raffles will be held throughout the event as well.
#YGD will be there, some come to play some games and have some fun, for the children! See you there!
