Welcome to my beginner livestream, “The Building Blocks of Unity”!
Along with Andre (better known as Mix and Jam), I’ll be discussing two of the “building blocks” within the Unity engine: GameObjects and Components. GameObjects are what take your game from nothing to something. Components take those GameObjects to the next level (pun intended) by giving them behaviors and functionality!
During the stream we’ll build a target-shooting game, learn essential Unity tips, and answer your questions throughout with live Q&A.
WIN A PRIZE:
Once we’re live, share a screenshot, gif or video of you working on the project and tag Unity on Twitter (@unity3d) or Instagram (@UnityTechnologies) along with the hashtag #CreatorStream, and you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $75 USD Unity Gear Store gift certificate! We’ll be giving away a gift certificate every half hour, so hang, learn and participate on Twitter for a chance to win!
YOUR FIRST GAME JAM:
Tune in on May 3rd at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET for our next live Youtube event, Your First Game Jam! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dweo04X7mJU
Q: Do I need any Unity or programming experience to attend?
A: Nope! This livestream is for people who are new to Unity. We just ask that you arrive ready to watch and interact (see above).
Q: What other system requirements are there to install Unity?
Q: How long is the livestream?
A: That really depends on you! While the project will take an hour or so to complete, if the chat is lively, we’ll happily hang and answer questions!
Q: Will it be recorded/published?
A: Absolutely! While we look forward to hearing about your progress while we’re live, we’ll also make sure the stream and the project are available to watch and use through this channel.
