With this Meetup, Kendra will be giving a presentation about what she has learned about launching a mobile app Kickstarter Campaign. She will discuss things that went well or didn’t, things to change, and more. Hopefully, this presentation may help you with your future Kickstarter Campaign.
This is also the due date for your voting of the YGD Convention’s name. Don’t forget to post your vote!
We will give a reminder to attend the October 13th speech / panel at YSU’s McDonough Museum where Bill, Andrew and Kendra will be discussing their experience with game development.
This is also our first birthday! There will be cake for everyone. If you have any food allergies, please let Kendra know. Wahoo! Birthday party!
See you there!

Letter from the Organizer
I hope this past month has served you all well. This month is YGD birthday time! Woohoo! We made it through our first year, and to celebrate, there will be cake. This cake, my friends, is not a lie.
As a reminder, this month’s meetup will be at the Poland Library, since the Boardman Library is closed for reconstruction.
This month’s discussion will continue a little bit from last month, to expand on marketing, specifically Kickstarter and crowdfunding marketing. I will be talking about the Kickstarter that I launched at the end of last month, and discuss some things that I have learned about crowdfunding campaigns and some things that I would have done differently.
We will briefly go over the OGDE conference that is in November in Columbus to discuss scheduling and anything else we may need to discuss.
I think we should all take a discussion and learn about each other’s current projects or ideas that could become projects. This would be a good session to learn from each other, and help motivate each other with what we are all doing.
We officially have our website domain. The site is not quite set up yet, but we are working towards having it ready for 2016. I would love for everyone to come up with some ideas to write posts about game development. It could be about anything; maybe you know someone who is working on a virtual reality game, a top 10 list of your favorite indie games of all time, advice on how to create a game doc, a tutorial on Unity, and maybe even a podcast. This will be a fun way to gain more members, and help keep each other motivated on our projects and stay in touch with development in between projects.
We are currently working out a deal with the McDonough museum, which includes possibly being able to use the museum as our meeting spot soon. Leslie, the museum director is looking for some people who would be available for volunteering. She currently has an event on the weekend of November 6th, and needs some help. So, check your calendars and if you are available, I will add you to the volunteer list and she will email or text you if she needs your help.
And our own convention. (Yay!) This meetup wil be the deadline to cast your vote for the naming of our convention for next year. We will discuss more convention details as well.
So, see you all in a few days!
Don’t forget to RSVP on the meetup page so we know how much pizza to bring!
